Basic Grey have designed for Moda a collection of 100% cotton fabrics with an interesting rubbed look to them. Each colour has attractive simple coloured markings over the base colour giving the appearance of a shabby-chic look. These cotton fabrics from Moda will all mix and match and will be superb for blending with other cotton fabrics especially some of Moda’s printed and patterned cottons.Moda always uses good staple cotton fabrics and these will find a place in most quilter’s stashes! They have a lift to them that many plain cotton fabrics don’t have and so will enhance patchwork designs and larger quilt projects. Grunge basics will also appeal to dressmakers when they want to make up such accessories such as bags and hats and will also be great for home décor items such as runners, table mats and cushions. Used on their own these Moda cotton fabrics would be great as a background for some whole cloth quilting and would show up the stitchery to good effect whether it is done by hand or by sewing machine. As a background for appliqué work they are ideal as the broken colour can only enhance any other cotton fabric that was appliquéd to it. A really good range of colours from Moda for both quilters and home sewers.
